Job Summary
**
The Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) Technician is responsible for the cleaning, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and medical equipment to ensure a safe and sterile environment in healthcare settings. This role plays a vital part in infection control and patient safety by adhering to established protocols and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene.

Responsibilities

- Clean, sterilize, and prepare medical instruments and equipment according to departmental protocols.
- Inspect and test sterilization equipment and processes to ensure effectiveness and compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and inventory of supplies.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for surgical procedures.
- Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or deficiencies to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or equivalent qualification in Sterilization Services.
- Previous experience in a CSSD or similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control principles and sterilization techniques.
- Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
