Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Archdiocesan Services will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and strategies of the Archdiocese. The CFO will play a critical role in financial planning, reporting, and compliance, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization while supporting its mission and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the Archdiocese's goals.
- Manage financial planning and budgeting processes, including forecasting and variance analysis.
- Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Lead the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to provide insights and recommendations for financial decision-making.
- Ensure effective cash flow management and investment strategies.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Monitor and mitigate financial risks, ensuring adherence to governance policies.
- Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, including the Archdiocesan leadership and finance committee.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible financial management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector, particularly within a religious or community service organization, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Australian financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment.
