Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant legislation.
- Conduct month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support business planning.
- Manage the audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices in financial reporting and accounting procedures.
- Monitor compliance with internal controls and assist in the development of financial policies.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
- Excellent knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and tax regulations.
- Advanced skills in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CA qualification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting or a similar role.
- Experience in managing audits and compliance processes.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
