Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist in Computational Biology to join our dynamic research team. The successful candidate will leverage computational methods and tools to analyze biological data, contributing to innovative research projects in genomics and systems biology. This role requires strong analytical skills and a passion for advancing scientific knowledge through computational techniques.

Responsibilities

- Develop and apply computational models and algorithms to analyze biological data.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design experiments and interpret results.
- Conduct data analysis and visualization to communicate findings effectively.
- Stay current with advancements in the field of computational biology and integrate new techniques into research projects.
- Prepare and present research findings in written reports and oral presentations.

Required Skills

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
- Strong experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of biological concepts and methodologies, particularly in genomics or proteomics.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

- A PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Experience in research settings, with a proven track record of publications or presentations.
- Familiarity with high-throughput sequencing technologies and data analysis pipelines is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
