Job Summary
The Pathology Collector is responsible for collecting and processing biological specimens from patients for diagnostic testing. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and quality of samples while providing compassionate care and support to patients throughout the collection process.
Responsibilities
- Collect blood, urine, and other specimens from patients according to established protocols.
- Ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens to maintain chain of custody and accuracy.
- Provide clear instructions and support to patients during the collection process to ensure their comfort and cooperation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to ensure timely processing of specimens.
- Document all collected specimens and maintain accurate records in the laboratory information system.
- Participate in training and professional development to stay current with best practices in pathology collection.
