Job Summary
The Staff Specialist Anaesthetist - G/NSW will provide high-quality anaesthetic care to patients in a variety of clinical settings. This role involves working collaboratively with surgical and medical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Deliver anaesthetic services for a range of surgical procedures, including pre-operative assessments and post-operative care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans and manage anaesthetic protocols.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to any changes during procedures.
- Participate in educational activities, including training and mentoring junior staff and medical students.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance within the department.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to regulatory standards.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Medical degree and specialist qualification in anaesthesia.
- Registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a hospital setting is preferred.
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures impacting anaesthetic practice.
