Introducing the region

Townsville (Australian English: Townsville) is the largest port city in the northeast of the Australian continent and the capital of North Queensland. With a population of about 20,000, the city is one of the most attractive areas for attracting investment and has one of the highest growth rates of Australian cities.

Although this area has been inhabited by Aboriginal Australians for thousands of years due to its fertile land and water resources, the first English settlement, Townsville, was established in 1866.
