Job Summary
The Natural Area's & Horticultural Technician is responsible for the maintenance, restoration, and management of natural areas and horticultural projects. This role involves working with native plants, landscapes, and ecosystems to promote biodiversity and sustainability while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of natural areas and horticultural sites.
- Implement restoration and rehabilitation strategies for degraded environments.
- Assist in the propagation, planting, and care of native and ornamental plants.
- Monitor plant health and manage pest control measures as needed.
- Collaborate with environmental teams and community stakeholders to promote conservation initiatives.
- Maintain records of work activities, plant species, and environmental assessments.
- Participate in educational programs and workshops to raise awareness about horticultural practices and environmental stewardship.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of native Australian flora and horticultural practices.
- Proficient in the use of horticultural tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Certificate III in Horticulture, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in horticulture, land management, or environmental conservation is preferred.
- Current driver's license and ability to operate relevant machinery.
- Understanding of environmental legislation and sustainability practices.
- First Aid certification is advantageous.
