Job Summary

The Driving Examiner is responsible for assessing the driving abilities of individuals seeking to obtain or renew their driver's licenses. This role involves conducting practical driving tests, providing feedback to candidates, and ensuring compliance with road safety regulations. The Driving Examiner plays a crucial role in promoting road safety and upholding the standards of driving competency within the community.

Responsibilities

- Conduct practical driving assessments in accordance with established guidelines and regulations.
- Evaluate candidates' driving skills, knowledge of road rules, and overall safety awareness.
- Provide constructive feedback to candidates following assessments, including areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments and ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Stay updated on changes to road laws, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance assessment processes and improve service delivery.
- Address any candidate concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner.

- Strong observational and analytical skills to assess driving performance effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to provide clear feedback and guidance.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in record-keeping.
- Proficient in using assessment tools and technology related to driving tests.

Requirements and Qualifications

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in driver assessment or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in driver training or road safety are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws in Australia.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet any other regulatory requirements for examiners.
