Wildlife Officer In Charge


Job Summary

The Wildlife Officer In Charge is responsible for overseeing wildlife management programs, ensuring the conservation of native species and habitats. This role involves leading a team of wildlife officers, coordinating field activities, and engaging with the community to promote awareness and compliance with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

- Manage and supervise daily operations of wildlife management programs and field activities.
- Develop and implement conservation strategies to protect native wildlife and habitats.
- Conduct field assessments and monitor wildlife populations to gather data for reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and community stakeholders to promote conservation efforts.
- Provide training and support to team members on best practices in wildlife management and safety protocols.
- Prepare reports and presentations on wildlife programs and initiatives for stakeholders.
- Respond to wildlife emergencies and coordinate rescue and rehabilitation efforts as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in wildlife management or conservation.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to remote locations as required.
- Knowledge of Australian wildlife laws and regulations is preferred.
- First Aid certification and experience in emergency response is an advantage.
